The Project Excel Evening Reporting Center provides a level of supervision sufficient to safely maintain appropriate youth in the community while awaiting disposition of their case or their court authorized release from the program.
At the Evening Reporting Center, youth are engaged in educational activities, recreational programming and life development workshops that address their criminogenic needs. Services are evidence based and flexible to the extent that they can be tailored to the specific risks and needs of the youth referred to the program. Snacks and dinner are provided, along with other incentives and transportation.
The Evening Reporting Center primarily serves youth pending court for alleged delinquency acts but may include youth that are the subject of a court order, Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) or Consent Decree (CD). The Evening Reporting Center may also be an alternative to youth being placed in the secure detention center pre-dispositional or for sanctions.
Eligible youth include those:
• charged with a delinquent act that are awaiting a court hearing (disposition)
• the subject of a court order that would otherwise serve days in detention due to failure to abide by the court order
• apprehended on a warrant
The Evening Report Center is part of Project Excel and is funded by Milwaukee County Department of Health & Human Services-Delinquency & Court Services Division.
