WCS is partnering with the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) to fill temporary and seasonal work positions. As DPW workers work to help demolish foreclosed properties in the city, or take on other seasonal projects, workers from the WCS Training and Temporary Placement Partnership Initiative will fill those temporary vacancies.
During the spring and summer seasons, DPW will utilize WCS to fill between 20-30 seasonal positions for up to three months to assist with spring clean-up, and fall leaf removal. These temporary labor positions will expose individuals to city work requirements, a challenging qualification screening process, hiring process, and valuable work experience that can be listed on a résumé. The pay is well above minimum wage, and there is the opportunity for those selected to apply for full-time, regular employment with the City of Milwaukee.
